Exhibitor at iSociety World

This year the largest German community of IBM midrange users, COMMON Germany, holds its annual congress event in Stuttgart at November 14th and 15th. The fair trade “iSociety World 2007” is embedded in the program and offers a wide range of hardware and software solutions and products as well as services for midsized business.

The menten GmbH participates as exhibitor. We emphasize use and benefit of the digital signature for sending e-invoices. Of course, we are looking forward to welcoming all visitors and to answering all questions to i-effect and our portfolio.

Increased SQL Performance

To shorten SQL query time many access pathes for complex queries have been stored additionally in the DB2 data base. This way, the system is releaved from creating new access pathes in case of redundant queries. Read the list of the DB2 indices in the i-effect forum, at rubric „Release Notes“, entry „*BASE Performanceverbesserung“.

Protect Sheet

The new parameter XLSPROTECT protects the created sheet against any modification. You can enter a password to prevent others from unprotecting the sheet. The protect can be suspended in the created sheet itself.

Print Sheet

The new parameter XLSPRINT disposes of all necessary elements to set the printing options. XLSPRINT scales the data display for print, defines the paper size and adjusts the page according to the known excel attributes.

Optimize Page Layout for Print

The new parameters XLSADJUST and XLSFITPAGE determine the scaling in percentages of the page layout and the page number that is to print.

Font Type and Size, Column Width and Title

You can determine the preferred font type with the new element “font name” and the size with the element “font size” in the EXCEL parameter. Beside the default setting you can adjust the column width to the maximum data size of the column selecting the value *AUTOFIT.
The column titles can be formatted flexible with the CSV parameter.

Format Number in Outgoing Messages

The flatfile mapping has been supplemented through the function *EDITC. The function changes a numeric value in outgoing messages into that format that is given by the deposed edit code.

*HTTP for Promotion Price

With i-effect V1R3M1 you can exchange your business data directly from System i by the protocol HTTP. Especially SSL encryption of HTTPS secures the transfer of HTTP content.
i-effect *HTTP supports sending and receiving per HTTP POST as well as client and server authentification of HTTPS.
The new module *HTTP is available for promotion price: EUR 3.800,- until December, 31st 2007.

Restore Spool Files Ressources

Converting PC into spool files with CVTSTMSPLF you can specify in parameter RSTSPLRSC, wether spool file ressources, which are saved in the data stream file, shall be restored.

Save Spool Files Ressources

Converting spool into save files with CVTSPLSAV you can specify with the new paramenter SAVSPLRSC, wether the referenced objects in the spooled file like overlays, page segments or fonts shall be saved.

Exclude Spool Files from Processing

Selecting object type *SPOOL you can choose the new element *OMIT in parameter CHOICE to exclude named spool files from processing.
